Graduate student from our group, Yuzhe Wen, presented his recent finding on "Effect of low temperature chemistry on stabilization of multu-brachial flame under different gravity conditions" in the 2022 Asian Microgravity Symposium held in Jeju Island, Korea. The presentation includes the recent results from numerical simulatoin of a DME flame in an autoignitive environment so that a cool flame and tri-brachial hot flames can co-exist. It is found that such flame in supergravity exhibits tear-off effect making the cool flame detached from the hot one due to the opposite buoyancy effect. By removing the cool flame chemistry, it is shown that cool flame can exert infleunce on the liftoff of the hot flame.
